Our Community Support For Cancer Prevention

SportPort is passionate about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and seeks to help educate the public on how to attain this. Personal health is deeply tied in with environmental and public health issues. Educating the public on controversial topics such as cancer prevention, the dangers of cell phone use, environmental pollutants, and chemical toxins is crucial for world health and what you'll find in the blog and web pages of SportPort Active and in the high performance designs of the sportswear.

Our Women's High Performance Activewear For Body Safety

Due to the concerns of cell phone use, SportPort developed a patented technology system which incorporates a proprietary barrier that helps protect the user from potentially harmful Cell Phone EMF (Electromagnetic Frequency) that is emitted from cell phones. SportPort Sports Bras & Tops include pockets that are engineered to create a cellular system which shields against potentially harmful phone emissions.

Our Work For The Environmental Working Group

SportPort proudly donates to and supports the amazing work done by the Environmental Working Group. The participation of SportPort CEO, Kim Highfield, at EWG special events is just one way she helps keep her team on top of the latest public health information. For two decades Environmental Working Group (EWG) has done groundbreaking research that has changed the conversation concerning our nation’s public and environmental health. There have been many public health debates won due to the in-depth work of EWG, one being the new regulations on cell phone usage. The government is now forcing cell phone manufacturer’s to disclose the dangers of cell phones. For more information read our Cell Phone Radiation Facts Sheet. Warning: Manufacturers recommend holding your cell phone 5/8″ away from your head due to the carcinogens from your phones for possible cancer prevention. EWG Co-Founder and President Ken Cook explains a short history of Environmental Working Group and his vision for EWG in the next 20 years. www.ewg.org

The Environmental Working Group’s mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment. With breakthrough research and education, we drive consumer choice and civic action. EWG is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.

Our Local & Community Events

SportPort enjoys collaborating with local community events. SportPort regularly sponsors fun community running races in the company’s home base city of Charlotte, North Carolina. While these races are great opportunities for the SportPort team to get to know the community, they also reflect the motivation behind the company, to support health awareness. Local organizations are the beneficiaries of these races. The beneficiary of the Running Scared 5 Miler & Monster Mile was the Isabella Santos Foundation, a kids’ foundation for children with cancer. As a pediatric cancer foundation, they aim to spread awareness. The beneficiary of the Santa Run 8K & Snowman dash was the Harvest Center of Charlotte, which serves men, women, and children in the Charlotte area who are impacted by poverty, unemployment, and homelessness. The Mother’s Day 5K serves to benefit RunningWorks, a non-profit running program founded to use sport to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect, poverty and homelessness - one stride at a time.
